Twitter to roll out manually audited multiple authentication logos
On Nov. 25, Musk tweeted that Twitter could relaunch its authentication feature this Friday, Dec. 2, in response to the platform’s recent serious identity impersonation problem. Musk said the new mechanism will reintroduce human auditing, which is “painful but necessary. There will also be multiple color versions of the new authentication logo: gold for corporate accounts, gray for government accounts, and the original blue for personal accounts. More details on the mechanics of the operation will be announced this week.

This comes after Musk changed Twitter’s authentication feature to an $8 per month Twitter Blue subscription service privilege and changed the manual review system to a fee-only authentication. Within a short period of time, there was a proliferation of ‘authenticated’ accounts posing as well-known public figures and brands, causing concern and withdrawal by several large advertisers. Musk later discontinued the feature, saying he would not relaunch Twitter Blue until he was “confident that no significant impersonation would occur.

Brazilian regulators confiscate iPhones for not having chargers
Brazil’s consumer protection regulator recently confiscated hundreds of iPhones from carrier stores and Apple-authorized retail stores in Brasilia for failing to comply with an injunction issued by Brazil’s Justice Ministry in September to continue selling iPhones without chargers in their packaging; Apple was fined millions of dollars at the time for doing so, according to 9to5Macs and other reports citing Brazilian media.

Apple later appealed the injunction and was upheld by the court and can continue to sell until a final ruling is issued. Although Apple said it was confident of winning the lawsuit, it also made a compromise gesture in selling the Brazilian version of the new Apple TV, which came with a USB-C cable, possibly to avoid further penalties

Nothing Phone update supports AirPods power display
Recently, Nothing Phone 1 released a software update that, while not the official Android 13 Beta that was previously teased, claims a number of previously reported performance, power and functionality issues and adds an experimental feature that displays the power level of AirPods. Apple uses a proprietary H-series chip and transmission protocol in the AirPods line, which generally does not display accurate power levels on non-Apple systems, but this has been implemented previously for a few fees (e.g. AirBattery) and open source applications (e.g. OpenPods).

According to images released by microblogging user @AiUnPlanet and others, the Xiaomi 13 series will be released on December 1, with renders showing a straight screen with a center scoop and a right-angle edge design for the center frame. Previously, according to Punch News, the upcoming Xiaomi’s new generation flagship Xiaomi 13 series is expected to be priced at a significant 15-20% increase to around $4,500 due to positioning upgrades, costs, epidemics, exchange rate fluctuations and other factors. The series are equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
